Permission to Carry a Concealed Weapon at Cross Roads Baptist Church with a Concealed Weapon Permit (CWP)

For all individuals seeking permission to carry a concealed weapon at Cross Roads Baptist Church (CRBC), they should:

1)    Fill out a permission request form to carry a concealed weapon at Cross Roads Baptist Church (Form Attached);

2)    Full Consent to a background check;

3)    Make a color copy (front and back) of their Concealed Weapon Permit (CWP), a copy of their current driver’s license, proof of law enforcement status (if applicable), proof of other use of force/firearms training/qualifications, and attach/include it to the Permission Request form;

4)    Any additional documentation requested by the CRBC Safety Committee; and

5)    NOTE:  Permission previously granted to carry a firearm on church property is NO LONGER VALID (no grandfather clauses/exceptions).  This application and process is the ONLY means to apply for permission to carry on church property.

Minimum, but not limited to, Approval Qualifications:

1)    To be a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church for a minimum of 365 days prior to any application being considered (Exception:  Current SC Law Enforcement);

2)    Pass with clear state and/or Federal criminal background investigations;

3)    Attend a mandatory meeting with the Safety Committee (for tentative approvals, subsequent to any full/final approval); and

4)    Other requirements as approved by the CRBC Safety Committee (additional church requirements, policies, and/or procedures are subject to change).

The request will be presented to the church staff and safety committee for approval/disapproval.  An approval letter or disapproval (denial) letter will be sent to the person requesting to carry a concealed weapon at Cross Roads Baptist Church (a sample letter is attached).

The church office will maintain a file with the Permission Request forms, copies of CWP, and letters sent to the requesting individuals.  We will have a list of those given permission to carry, the CWP #, and the expiration date of their CWP.  All granted permissions may require re-application/re-certification every twelve months.

Approved applicants must carry their approval letter or other indicia of approval at all times they are actively carrying a firearm on CRBC grounds.
